According to environmental legislation, fuel oil tanks must comply with certain requirements.
What does the law specify?
Regular checking of your fuel oil tank has been introduced by the government as a protective and preventative measure for our common future.
The regulations vary by region and they are also dependent on the type of tank, the location of the tank (underground, above ground...), the product held in the tank, the tank capacity, the age of the tank...
What does a standard check consist of?
- An inspection for the presence of sludge and water
- A visual inspection of the manhole
- A check on the correct operation of the overflow safety device and leak detection (if present)
- The performance of a seal test (only compulsory with an underground tank)
- The attachment of a label (green, orange or red)
- The provision of a conformity label
- A base corrosion inspection is an additional option
